Who We Are

Founded in 2022, the Awdal Development Fund (ADF) is a non-profit organization run by local residents for the empowerment, betterment, and development of the Awdal region. We support communities to identify areas of need and collaborate on solutions. The key to this dream is sustainability, creating long-lasting change to uplift Awdalians economically and educationally. There is huge potential in our young minds, yet unemployment in Awdal exceeds 80%. The fund will serve as a haven for solid employment opportunities for the many young people searching for it, further keeping the peace of the region. In addition, ADF hopes to create projects to enhance existing sectors of the economy such as farming, salt mining, and fishing. One principal project is the construction of schools and clinics for remote areas, bridging remote villagers to education and health access typically only seen in the main cities. Aid in the form of donations from the Diaspora and those at home is essential to bringing life to these projects. Through focusing on sustainability, humanitarianism, and ethical development, ADF will bring Awdal up to speed with the rest of the world.
