School & Clinic Compound(All Districts)

This is a universal project for each of the four districts in Awdal, an effort to create relief in two important areas of life: education and health. Donating to this cause means the building of a compound inclusive of a primary and secondary school, a functioning clinic, and housing for the teachers, doctors, and nurses providing the services as well as a drinking well. This initiative serves as an opportunity to not only help those in more remote areas, but to create employment for the huge youth population with degrees, ready to work but without the right connections. Schools and clinics in the Awdal region, echoing other Somali areas as well, are generally concentrated in urban areas. Some children do not attend school because the walk is too far to the closest one. Some families do not receive proper medical care, again, because the closest clinic is out of reach. This is also an opportunity to re-populate areas that have been abandoned in the past due to a lack of these services. By supporting these projects, sustainable development of the education and health sectors in Awdal is possible and fostering the survival and thriving of all Awdalians, not just those in the big cities.
